Djimi Traore joins Portsmouth

By Soccer Blog | Jan 11, 2007

Charlton left back Djimi Traore has agreed to join Portsmouth on a two and a half year contract. The fee is reported to be 1 million pounds, half of what the Addicks spent to secure his signature from Liverpool in the summer.

Traore played under three managers at the Valley and made 13 appearances, and also got sent off on debut against West Ham. Towards the end of his spell at Liverpool, he conceded some comical own  goals.

Manchester City left back Ben Thatcher is expected to be Traore’s replacement at the Valley.
