Watford reject 7 million pound bid for Ashley Young

By Soccer Blog | Jan 13, 2007

Watford have reportedly rejected a 7 million pound for star player Ashley Young from an unnamed club.

Young, who has been a revelation in what has otherwise been a pretty poor season for the Hornets, is on the wish list of many Premiership clubs who have been impressed by his pace and dead ball ability. He is comfortable on either foot and has troubled many defenders in the Premiership this season. He is currently the highest scorer at Vicarage Road with 4.
Various newspaper reports claim that the club is West Ham and rumours are floating around that an 8 million bid is set to come from Villa Park. If it does come in, Watford may be tempted, but no one has an exact idea of what kind of money the club wants.

Edit- After rejecting an offer from West Ham, Young has now been given permission to talk to Aston Villa.
