Chelsea players are prepared to protest to keep Mourinho at the Bridge

Chelsea and England skipper John Terry has said that he is prepared to lead a players’ protest to keep Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge if the need arises.

Mourinho, who replaced Claudio Ranieri as manager, is reportedly unhappy with his board for not giving him the freedom to bring in players to strengthen his injury hit squad. Newspaper rumours have linked with both Real Madrid and Inter, two clubs equally hungry for trophies with the funds to match their ambitions .

Didier Drogba has said that the manager has built a culture that has become Chelsea’s.

Mourinho shares a good relationship with his captain, but has been unwilling to comment on his future. He was reportedly unhappy with the club not permitting a swap involving Wright Philips to bring in Baros.

Mourinho is aiming to lead Chelsea to their third consecutive Premier League title, but the Blues face a stiff challenge from Manchester United and are currently behind the Red Devils.

Many managers, including Wenger and Ferguson have reportedly said that they think the Chelsea coach will stay at the Bridge.

Edit- Marcello Lippi is also being linked with the manager’s job at Chelsea.
