By Soccer Blog | Jan 23, 2007

Ligue 1 side Bordeaux have completed the signing of Fernando Cavenaghi from Spartak Moscow. The cultured Argentine forward, who had moved to Spartak for a fee of 6.5 million pounds from River in 2004, struggled to adjust to the style of play and the artificial pitches in the Russian capital. According to reports, Bordeaux have coughed up 10 million Euros for his signature.

Cavenaghi is only 23 and he will wear the no 7 jersey at the club which has made superstars of players like Zinedine Zidane and Jean Tigana. It will be interesting to see how Cavenaghi combines with playermakers like Johan Micoud and Denilson.

Bordeaux are currently in the UEFA Cup and will play Olympique Lyon in the French cup final.
