By Soccer Blog | Feb 2, 2007

Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce has been named by the English FA as their new U-21 coach. Pearce replaces current Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor, who quit in January after three years at the top.

However, Pearce will be a part time boss and he will be in charge till the end of the European Championship in June. The U-21 Championships will be held in the Netherlands this time around. England are in Group 8 with Switzerland and Moldova.
Pearce will continue to guide Manchester City, and has confirmed that he won’t apply for the job after the summer because ” City are his main priority”.

Pearce’s first game in charge of the young Lions will be a friendly against Spain on the 6th of February 2006 at Pride Park.
