Ledley King to be out for 6-8 weeks

By Soccer Blog | Feb 3, 2007

Tottenham skipper Ledley King is expected to be out for anywhere between 6 and 8 weeks after suffering a stress fracture in the fourth metatarsal of his left foot.

The injury means the centreback will not be available for atleast 2 months for Martin Jol. He hasn’t played for Spurs since they won at home on Boxing Day against Aston Villa. He  had reportedly bruised the bone in his foot at about that time and was undergoing rehabilitation. He was recovering well, but the injury has recurred and is in the form of a stress fracture.

King has had a frustrating season from the point of view of injuries, having missed the early part of the season and the 2006 World Cup in Germany too.

Jol  landed Ricardo Rocha from Benfica in the winter transfer window and the Portuguese  is expected to provide cover for King.
