Liverpool to sign Andriy Voronin

By Soccer Blog | Feb 20, 2007

If reports are to be believed, Bayer Leverkusen forward Andriy Voronin will be on his way to Anfield in the summer. Voronin, whose contract expires this summer, has reportedly penned a 4 year deal.

Voronin is a 179 cm Ukranian striker who has been capped 40 times at national level. He has spent close to 12 years in Germany having played for Borussia Monchengaldbach, Mainz, Koln and now Bayer. He also wears the no.12 shirt for Bayer :P

Voronin started all four of Ukraine’s games at the World Cup before suffering a thigh injury against Switzerland in the second round, which ruled him out of the rest of the tournament. Ukraine lost to eventual winners Italy in the quarterfinals.
