By Soccer Blog | Mar 28, 2007

The Premiership is unarguably one of the most popular football leagues in the world today, and it attracts a huge fan following. Here is a quiz on the Premiership, which will test how well you know the league. Some of the questions are tough, while others are not. Answers will be given a week or two from now, but if you want the answers immediately, use the contact page on the top right, and I’ll email it to you.

1.) No English manager has actually won the Premiership ( SAF and Dalglish come from Scotland). However two English managers have come second in the league. One is Kevin Keegan in 1996 with Newcastle. Give me the other manager and the club

2.) In which year did the Premiership start?

3.) Which team conceded the first goal in the history of the Premiership?

4.) Out of the three teams that were relegated after the end of the first season, one currently plays in the Premiership. Name that team.

5.) In the all time list of goal scorers in the Premiership, who is the only non European striker to figure in the top 10?

6.) 7 teams have been in the Premiership since its inception. Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are 4 of them. Name the remaining three.

7) As of 2006-2007, which is the smallest stadium in the Premiership in terms of capacity?

8.) Apart from Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, which is the only other team to win the Premiership?

9.) Who is the only manager to win the FA Premier League Manager of the Year award despite his team not winning the title that year?

Editing the post and giving the answers out. Here you go.
