FA Cup semifinal results

Manchester United 4-1 Watford (Wayne Rooney*2, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kieran Richardson/ Hamouer Bouazza)

Another great win for United, following their thrashing of Roma in the Champions League. The game wasn’t as one sided as the scoreline suggests though :) Watford fought bravely but finally bowed down to United’s superiority when Rooney scored the third goal. Rooney had set things rolling in the sixth minute. Bouazza, who scored the winner against Plymouth equalised, but United again took the lead two minutes later through Ronaldo. Rooney’s third came in the 66th minute, and Richardson made it 4, scoring 5 minutes after he had come on for Ronaldo.

Chelsea 2-1 Blackburn ( Lampard, Ballack/ Pedersen)

Chelsea dominated the first half and Blackburn the second. Rovers had many chances to win it in the second half. Shevchenko missed a sitter just after the lemon break. Chelsea however staged the great escape, as they have done many times before this game, and will now meet Manchester United in the final. For Blackburn, it was a case of ruing missed chances.
