Ryan Giggs retires from international football

By Soccer Blog | Jun 3, 2007

The Czech Republic- Wales European Championship qualifier ( Group D) saw the curtains go down on the international career of a very brilliant player named Ryan Giggs.

Giggs scored 12 goals in 65 appearances for country ( correct me if these stats are wrong :p). The Welsh Wizard, as Giggs is fondly known, will continue to play for Manchester United, the club he has served for close to two decades now.

And a piece of information here- Giggs has the same number on both his Manchester United and Welsh jerseys- 11.

I don’t think a draw is the way Giggs would have liked to go out, but there is no doubt that he has made Wales proud whenever he has represented her.
