Heidar Helguson to sign for Bolton Wanderers

By Soccer Blog | Jul 20, 2007

Icelandic striker Heidar Helguson is on the brink of a move to the Reebok Stadium from Craven Cottage. Bolton have reached upon an agreement with Fulham for the former Watford forward for an undisclosed fee. Helguson, known for his hard working nature, has passed a medical and is on the verge of putting pen to paper.

Helguson moved to Fulham in June 2005 for a fee of 1.3 million pounds. He formed a pretty good combination with American international Brian McBride upfront and scored twelve  goals in over fifty appearances for the club. With the recent acquisitions of David Healy and Diomansy Kamara, Helguson has slipped down the pecking order at Fulham.

Bolton manager Sammy Lee reportedly thinks that Helguson understands the demands of the Premier League. Helguson isn’t one to shy away from tackles, and Bolton are one of the most physical sides in the league. Pretty good combination, don’t you think ?
