Mido going to Middlesbrough ?

After days of speculation, it appeara that Egypt and Tottenham Hotspur striker Ahmed Mido will move to the Riverside. Middlesbrough have reportedly reached upon an agreement with Tottenham regarding the sum of money involved, and a medical is currently being conducted. If the deal goes through, Mido will join Yakubu and Jeremie Aliadiere as part of the strike force at Boro. The fee is reported to be around the 6 million pound mark.

Mido became surplus to requirements at Tottenham, with Keane, Berbatov, Defoe and Bent all ahead in Martin Jol’s scheme of things at White Hart Lane. Newly promoted Sunderland and Birmingham were also supposedly interested in securing his services. Mido had joined Tottenham from Italian club Roma. He was Tottenham’s second highest goal scorer in the 2005-2006 season.
