Rangers sign Amdy Faye on loan

By Soccer Blog | Aug 31, 2007

Rangers have signed Senegal midfielder Amdy Moustapha Faye on a season long loan from Championship side Charlton Athletic. Faye scored one goal in 28 appearances for the Addicks. Newly promoted Birmingham City were also reportedly interested in securing his signature, but were beaten to it by the Scottish club.

Faye is the second person that Rangers have signed on loan from an English club this season, the other being Wigan’s Andy Webster.

Rangers currently lead the SPL, with 12 points from four games, two ahead of bitter rivals Celtic.

Faye played for Auxerre, Portsmouth and Newcastle United ( in that order)before moving to Charlton in 2006
