FA cup fifth round results

Here are the results from the fifth round of the F.A. Cup.

Bristol Rovers 1-0 Southampton ( Rickie Lambert)

A freekick in the 84th minute from birthday boy Rickie Lambert is enough to send the Saints out of the tournament.

Manchester United 4-0 Arsenal ( Wayne Rooney, Darren Fletcher*2, Nani)

Expected to be a close encounter, but United never let go of their iron grip on the match.

Cardiff 2-0 Wolves ( Peter Whittingham, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink)

2 goals in the first 11 minutes are enough to give Cardiff a spot in the quarterfinal of the FA Cup for the first time since 1927.

Chelsea 3-1 Huddersfield Town ( Frank Lampard*2, Salomon Kalou/ Michael Collins)

Nothing too difficult for Chelsea.

Coventry 0-5 West Bromwich Albion ( Chris Brunt, Roman Brendar *2, Ishmael Miller, Zoltan Gera)

An amazing performance from out of form WBA sees the Baggies demolish Coventry City, who were missing Scott Dann and Daniel Fox. Michael Doyle being sent off didn’t help the Sky Blues’ cause either)

Liverpool 1-2 Barnsley ( Dirk Kuyt/ Stephen Foster, Brian Howard)

Without a doubt, the biggest upset of the fifth round. Luke Steele had an amazing debut in goal, saving everything that Liverpool threw at him. And just when a replay looked imminent, in comes Brian Howard, leaving a result that will increase the mounting pressure on Rafa Benitez.
