Pierre Wome signs for FC Köln

By Soccer Blog | May 30, 2008

Cameroon defender Pierre Wome has moved to newly promoted German side FC Köln on a free transfer. Wome, who missed the penalty that enabled Ivory Coast to qualify for the 2006 World Cup at the expense of the Indomitable Lions, leaves Werder Bremen after a two year spell.

Wome plays as a left wingback, and retired from international football last year. He has had spells in the top divisions in England, Germany, Spain and Italy, and is one of the few players that can boast of having done so.
