Toffees join United, Arsenal in race for Ramsey

By Soccer Blog | Jun 4, 2008

The race for Cardiff City’s teenaged wonder Aaron Ramsey is heating up, and according to latest reports, Everton have had their £5m accepted by the Bluebirds. Manchester United and Arsenal have already made similar bids, with Liverpool reportedly considering making an offer for a player who has been tipped by many to reach Ryan Giggs’ stature.

Cardiff rejected a £1m from a London based Premiership club in June 2007 for Ramsey. Born on Boxing Day 1990, Ramsey became Cardiff’s youngest ever player when he featured as a substitute in their game against Hull City in the 2006-07 season.

United’s bid reportedly allows Ramsey to be loaned back to Cardiff in the coming season, and sources say that it would be the ideal one for everybody in the picture. Ramsey will gain sufficient first team experience in the Championship, and his fitness will not be affected.

Ramsey has already been called to the Welsh senior squad, but has yet to be capped for the Dragons.
