Wigan sign Richard Kingson

By Soccer Blog | Sep 17, 2008

Wigan Athletic have completed the transfer of Ghanian keeper Richard Kingson on a free transfer. Kingson, the elder brother of Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingston, was released by Birmingham City at the end of last season. Wigan boss Steve Bruce, the manager of Birmingham when they signed Kingson was quick to snap him up, just as he did with Dutch international Daniel De Ridder.

Kingson joined Birmingham from Turkish club Ankaraspor in June 2007 on a two year deal after snubbing offers from clubs in Denmark and Israel. He has made 58 international appearances for Ghana, and is the No.1 goalkeeper for the Black Stars.
