Andy Cole leaves Nottingham Forest

By Soccer Blog | Nov 1, 2008

Veteran striker Andy Cole has left Championship side Nottingham Forest after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent. The former Manchester United forward, 37, joined Forest in the summer after being released by Sunderland, but did not score even a single goal in eleven appearances for the club.

Cole had initially signed a twelve month deal, but rarely started in two or more games successfully. He had five starts and six substitute appearances in his brief spell at Forest.

This is what Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood had to say to the club website ( nottinghamforest.co.uk)

It’s a shame things haven’t worked out as we planned, and we came to the joint conclusion that it was best we went our separate ways. I want to place on record my thanks for the contribution Andrew has made.
