Werder Bremen sign Alexandros Tziolis on loan

German club Werder Bremen have announced the signing of Alexandros Tziolis from Greek side Panathinaikos. Tziolis, 23, will be on loan at the Weserstadion till the end of the season. Bremen have an option to buy the defensive midfielder at the end of the loan.

Tziolis has been capped 10 times for the Greek national team. He moved from Panionios to Panathinaikos in 2005. Prior to Panionios, he was with Apollonas Litoxorou till 2003.

Tziolis will wear the No.16 jersey at Bremen.

Tziolis was born in Germany, and lived in Stuttgart till the age of 9. Owing to this, he speaks fluent German.

Bremen have reportedly paid 300,00 euros to bring Tziolis to Germany, and can buy him for an additional €1.6m
