German U-21 keeper Thorsten Kirschbaum has made a switch to Liechensteiner club FC Vaduz. Kirschbaum, 21, signed for Hoffenheim in 2006 from FC Nürnberg.

Opportunities have been limited for Kirschbaum at Hoffenheim and the arrival of Timo Hildebrand had further emphasised the fact that he was way down Ralf Rangnick’s pecking order.

Kirschbaum now joins fellow countryman Tim Grossklaus at Vaduz, who currently play in the Axpo Super League in Switzerland.

Kirschbaum will compete with Gabriel Wüthrich for the number one keeper’s spot at Vaduz.
