FSV Frankfurt sign Gennadi Blizniuk

BATE Borisov’s Belarussian striker Gennadi Blizniuk has joined 2.Bundesliga side FSV Frankfurt on a free transfer. Blizniuk, 28, has signed a contract till the end of the season. FSV have the option to extend it for another two seasons.

Blizniuk has Champions League experience with BATE, and scored four goals in the qualifiers this season to help BATE reach the group stages of the competition.

Blizniuk has consistently made it to the list of best Belarussian players- he was on the 22 member list ( made by ABFF) in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007. He has also been capped at international level.

Svetlogorsk born Blizniuk joined BATE from Russian second division club Sokol in 2005. He started his career with Energy before moving to Kommunalnik in 1998. One year later he joined FC Gomel and stayed with them for nearly five years.
