Didier Digard out for 12 weeks

By Soccer Blog | Feb 24, 2009

Relegation threatened Middlesbrough have been hit by the news that influential midfielder Didier Digard is unlikely to be able to play again this season. The Frenchman suffered the injury in the weekend draw against Middlesbrough. He was injured in a challenge with Lee Cattermole, and was substituted after 23 minutes. Young midfielder Josh Walker replaced him.

Digard has been one of Boro’s better players since arriving from PSG for £4m last summer. His absence will leave a hole in Boro’s midfield and will lead to more headaches for under pressure manager Gareth Southgate.
