Australia 2-0 Uzbekistan ( ANZ Stadium, Sydney) FT
Goal scorers:- Joshua Kennedy 66′, Harry Kewell 73′ pen
No repeat of Saturday’s 4-0 win for Uzbekistan as Australia put in an efficient performance to beat them 2-0. Both goals came in the second half, and with this win, the Socceroos have taken a giant step towards qualifying for South Africa 2010. For Uzbekistan, Soliev did net a consolation goal in the dying seconds, but it was disallowed for offside.
