Final second leg score: Arsenal 3-0 Villareal (Goal scorers:- Theo Walcott, Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin Van Persie pen)

Arsenal win 4-1 on aggregate, and will meet Manchester United in the semifinals.


Arsenal 1-0 Villareal ( Theo Walcott 10′ goal)

Teenage striker Walcott gives the Gunners the lead at the Emirates Stadium. Emmanuel Eboue passes the ball to captain Fabregas who cleverly flicks it ahead into the path of Walcott, who lifts it over the Villareal keeper.

Arsenal 2-0 Villareal ( Emmanuel Adebayor 60′ goal )

Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor scores one on the hour mark, doubling Arsenal’s lead. Great play from Van Persie to set up the goal.

Arsenal 3-0 Villareal ( Robin Van Persie penalty goal 69′)

Theo Walcott is fouled by Diego Godin, and Robin Van Persie scores from the resulting spot kick.
