All goals and video highlights from the Man City v Hamburg second leg UEFA Cup quarterfinal tie at the City of Manchester Stadium on April 16, 2009. Hamburg lead 3-1 from the first leg in Germany. Kickoff at 19.45 UK time.

Both Robinho and Stephen Ireland start, but there is no Shaun Wright Phillips in the squad.

Hamburg win 4-3 on aggregate, and will meet Werder Bremen in the semi finals.

The Peruvian scored in the first leg in Germany, and here he gives Hamburg a priceless away goal after Vincent Kompany fails to intercept the ball.

Manchester City 1-1 Hamburg ( Elano 17′ penalty goal)

Elano tries to float the ball into the box, and the ball hits the back of the arm of Piotr Trachowski. The referee thinks it is a penalty, and despite guessing right, Hamburg keeper Frank Rost cannot stop Elano’s penalty from going in.

Manchester City 2-1 Hamburg ( Felipe Caicedo 50′ goal)

Young Ecuadorean forward Caicedo puts City ahead in the 50th minute. Unfortunately for City, they couldn’t find a third goal to take the tie into extra time.
