Sampdoria to meet Lazio in final of Coppa Italia 2008-09

Sampdoria will meet Lazio Roma in the final of the 2008-09 Coppa Italia after the Blucerchiati beat Inter Milan 3-1 on aggregate in the semifinals of the tournament on Thursday night. Sampdoria, who had a 3-0 advantage from the first leg, lost 1-0 at the San Siro ( Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored for Inter).

Lazio beat Juventus 4-2 on aggregate in the other semifinal ( 2-1 in either leg)

The winner of the Italian Cup final between Sampdoria and Lazio gets a direct entry into Europe next season.
