Glen Johnson is Pompey’s Player of the Season

Right back Glen Johnson was named Portsmouth’s Fans Player of the Season ( for 2008-09) as well as Player’s Player of the Season at the end of the season awards last night.

Johnson beat off competition from David James and Peter Crouch to win the Fans Player of the Season award.

Midfielder Sean Davis, Crouch and Johnson were the shortlisted candidates for Popmey’s Player’s Player of the Season award.

Johnson also won the 107.4 Quay Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike against Hull City.

Matt Ritchie was named Pompey’s Young Player of the Year award, while keeper David James won the OKI Printing Solutions award for outstanding contribution to the Portsmouth community.
