International Friendlies result- June 2

The results from all the international friendlies that took place on June 2.

France 0-1 Nigeria in St.Etienne ( Joseph Akpala 32′)

Joseph Akpala’s 32nd minute strike gives Nigeria a shock win over 1998 World Cup winners France in St.Etienne. Great win for the Nigerians ahead of their World Cup qualifying game against Kenya in Abuja.

Turkey 2-0 Azerbaijan ( Hamit Altintop 69′, Ibrahim Uzulmez 74′)

Ten man Azerbaijan lose 2-0 to Turkey. Azerbaijan goalkeeper Farhad Veliyev did manage to save a Semih Senturk penalty though.

UAE 2-7 Germany (Ismail Salem Al-Hammadi 53′, Nawaf Amir Mubarak 73′/ Heiko Westermann 29′, Mario Gomez 35′, Piotr Trochowski 39′, Mario Gomez 45′, Mario Gomez 48′, Naser Masoud OG 52′, Mario Gomez 90′)

Mario Gomez breaks his international drought as Germany hammer the UAE 7-2. First goal in 14 months for Gomez.
