Hammers sign Alessandro Diamanti

West Ham United have completed the signing of Italian striker Alessandro Diamanti from Livorno for a fee of £6m.

Diamanti was instrumental in helping Livorno gain promotion to the Serie A last season, scoring 18 goals in 37 games. He is also regarded as a wonderful free kick taker in his native country.

Diamanti has put pen to paper a five year deal at Upton Park.

Fans of the Hammers will be hoping that Diamanti can make the same kind of impact at West Ham that his countryman Paolo Di Canio did.
