Bryan Robson to become next Thai coach

By Soccer Blog | Sep 23, 2009

Former England captain Bryan Robson has agreed to become the next coach of the Thailand national football team. Robson suceeds former Leeds boss Peter Reid, who left the job after one year to join Tony Pulis at Stoke City. The Thai football association have given Robson a four year contract- the same that they offered Reid.

Reid, who lost just two of his thirteen games with Thailand, had wanted to continue as coach of the Changsuk on a part time basis, but the idea was shot down by Thai FA bosses.

Thailand have not qualified for next year’s showpiece in South Africa, and Robson’s immediate task will be help the squad qualify for the 2011 Asia Cup. They are currently third in Group E behind Iran and Singapore with two points from as many games.

This could end up being the ideal job for Robson.

Goood luck to him, I hope he does well.
