Notts County sack manager McParland

By Soccer Blog | Oct 12, 2009

League two club Notts County have sacked manager Ian McParland. The 48 year old, a former Magpies player himself, arrived at Meadow Lane in October 2007. Notts County finished 21st in the 2007-08 season, and 19th in the 2008-09 season. However McParland’s position was always under a cloud after the takeover of the club by foreign investors ( Munto Finance)

Club chairman Peter Trembling had announced last month that McParland’s position was under “constant review”.

McParland’s last game in charge of County was a 2-2 draw against Torquay. The club are currently fifth in League Two, with 25 points from 12 games. They are in the playoff places, and just four behind leaders Bournemouth.
