Championship outfit Middlesbrough have completed the signing of striker Marcus Bent on loan from Birmingham City. Bent is the first signing of new Boro boss Gordon Strachan, who recently took charge of affairs from Gareth Soutgate. The former Charlton and Everton striker will be at Riverside for the next two months.

Middlesbrough are Bent’s twelfth club. He started his career with Brentford and had spells with Crystal Palace, Port Vale, Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich, Leicester, Everton, Charlton, Wigan and Birmingham ( in that order)
