Result:- New Zealand win the two legged playoff 1-0 on aggregate, and qualify for their first World Cup since 1982. For Bahrain, it is another case of heartbreak- they lost to Trinidad and Tobago in the playoffs for the 2006 World Cup. A record attendance at the Westpac Stadium- the highest ever for a soccer match in New Zealand.
