Lausanne to sign Celestini

By Soccer Blog | Feb 17, 2010

Veteran Swiss midfielder Fabio Celestini will leave Getafe this summer after agreeing a deal with second division side Lausanne. Celestini, 34, started his career at Lausanne and spent five seasons with the Swiss club before moving to Troyes in 2000.

After two years with Troyes, he transferred to Mediterranean outfit Marseille in 2002. He was a substitute in OM’s 2-0 loss to Valencia in the 2004 UEFA Cup final. He moved south to Spain the same year to Levante but left them a season later to join Getafe. Till date, he has notched up close to a hundred league appearances for Getafe, who are currently 8th in La Liga with 32 points from 22 games.
