Rubin Kazan swoop for Salvatore Bocchetti

Rubin Kazan have officially completed the signing of Genoa defender Salvatore Bocchetti. The 23 year old centre half becomes Rubin’s latest high profile signing of the 2010 summer window after Carlos Eduardo and Obafemi Martins. While Eduardo and Martins were acquired for €20m and €9m respectively, Bocchetti has been signed for €11m.

Bocchetti has signed a three and a half year contract with Kazan, who are the current Russian Premier League champions.

Rubin Kazan are in the same group as Barcelona, FC Copenhagen and Panathinaikos in this season’s Champions League.
