Newcastle crushed West Ham United 5-0 as Leon Best scored a hat trick on his first league start for the Magpies. Newcastle scored three before the interval and two after it two finish resounding winners over West Ham.
This Gerrard penalty miss against Blackburn would probably have not made a big difference to the eventual result ( 3-1 to Blackburn), but it would certainly have set up a tense last few minutes for the home side.
Gerrard’s missed penalty vs Blackburn came just minutes after he had pulled one back for Liverpool.
