This Jack Rodwell red card vs Liverpool ( see video below) came at an unfortunate time for Everton in their Premier League game against Liverpool on Saturday, 1 October 2011. The Rodwell red card against Liverpool came in the 23rd minute of the Everton vs Liverpool game and reduced Everton to ten men.
Rodwell was sent off by referee Martin Atkinson for his challenge on Liverpool’s Luis Suarez. Many neutrals felt Rodwell’s dismissal was a tad harsh given that there was no real cynical challenge by the young Everton medio. Liverpool emerged 2-0 winners over Everton in the game.
