  19. Goma Jonathan February 13, 2012 8:56 am

Zambia exihibited great and out of this world performance at the AFCON 2012. I say this because,we are the team which has managed to bring down the much talked about big names of African football such as Ghana,Ivory Coast and Senegal too numerous to itemize. We have proved wrong the bookmakers prediction favouring Ivory Coast in yesterday’s final and im not buffled at that because they just human beings just like anybody entitled to thier opinions. And how nice to see the GRAND PAPAS of Ivory Coast shed tears like young teens last night. Long live Zambia and may our GOOD LORD continue protecting us from Mt Zion.

To the national team, we say thank you for honouring our dear brothers who perished in 1993 Gabon Air clash while on duty for this great nation. May their soul now rest in eternal peace, the throphy has finally come home and thats what you all stood before the untimely disaster that robbed us your unequated talents.

  20. mwa February 13, 2012 9:01 am

The battle is not for the strong but chance and time happen to all Praise god he sits on the throne..he has whiped out tears of 1993. The cooper bullet has run through the head of the Elephant.

  21. Goma Jonathan February 13, 2012 9:03 am

By the way, im already at the airport to recieve our great lads with the trophy. This nation is blessed and the Victory of HE MC Sata will continue to linger in our heads and add more impetus to our fighting spirits. That noting is impossible

(i know Zambians speaks little bit Swahili) Hongereni vijana, mmeonyesha ukakamavu, ujasiri na nidhamu ya hali ya juu.

  27. Mkpur McDonald Terzungwe February 13, 2012 10:11 am

I am a football fanatic and i support my country Nigeria more than words can describe but even if the AFCON finals were between Nigeria and Zambia i, as fanatical as i am about the supper eagles of Nigeria, would have supported Zambia! I join all Zambians in dedicating this superb victory to all those zambian soccer icons that lost their lives in the tragic plane clash of 1993 in the coast of Gabon. This victory would not have come at a better place than Gabon where the stars were killed. Kudos to the Chipolopolo of Zambia!

  28. Kenneth Mutsena February 13, 2012 10:19 am

Zambia played the game with sheer determination, with composure, reassurance, all their energy, passion (check when Musonda cried when he could no longer continue with the game after injury in 11th minute), confidence. They were all over Ivory Coast. Hey big Teams in Europe you need to cast your nets wider down here to Southern Africa. These lads were just a marvel to watch. They deserved to win. The young dudes reminded me of the Debby Mankinkas, Kalusha Bwalya etc. They were just too good to still be labelled as underdogs. That term no longer exists in their vocabulary. Well done Zambia. from Zimbabwe………..

  29. Mkpur McDonald Terzungwe February 13, 2012 10:26 am

Zambia’s Chipolopolo have prove to the world that there are no more push overs in Africa Football. Kudos

  30. nyachi February 13, 2012 10:36 am

  31. raghav February 13, 2012 10:37 am

gervinho needs to sort out his penalties, they shouldnt have let him take two

  32. Reyes February 13, 2012 10:59 am

From under dogs to bull dogs!!!! Guess the west African “favourites” still dont know what hit them, one by one we gunned them down………It was Senegal (Lion),then Ghana (black star) and Lastly Ivory Coast (elephant)……Our aim was sharp and deadly!!!!!!!!!!

  33. Enock Ogolla Oguok February 13, 2012 11:12 am

  36. Johnson Bamidele February 13, 2012 11:17 am

Team spirit has done for Zambia, at least the memory of those who lost their lifes in a plane crash in 1993 is not in vain.
For the first time, you are welcome

  37. Johnson Bamidele February 13, 2012 11:21 am

We have been to the Africa cup of Nations a record 16 times and we have never relented. We are the African champions whether one likes it or not. When God said come 2012 Zambia would win the AFCON way before all of us were born, it remained that way until 12.02.12. We give glory and honour to Jehovah God for hearing our prayers. Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria, watch out there are no underdogs in football anymore. Zambia you have done Southern Africa proud. Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Lesotho, South Africa, Tanzania, Congo DR, Angola, Namibia, this is your victory join in the celebrations for we Zambians love you all.

Go ahead and grab the world cup! You can do it!

  47. Ruth Nakazwe February 13, 2012 1:05 pm

The copper bullets have finally done it! Chipolopolo! Go Zambia go! You have really made us proud. You were not even the least on the favourites’ list but see yourselves…. Despite big names, you managed to triumph over them! Way to go Zambia and continue with the same spirit, keep the cup!

  50. Alice February 13, 2012 3:09 pm

totaly overwhelmed,as bible say, nor the battle to the strong. But time and chance happen to them all. This the scripture that kept coming to me each time somebody overkooked zambia. This was zambia’s chance and there was nothing either drogba or anybody could do about it. Glory be to God for wiping our tears.

wat started as weeping boys but shocked the world .comon guys is this zambia the real africa.it was 0n 21.senegal was handed a 2.1 they called a fluke,we wired eg guinea 1.0 a fluke again they say we see with sudan we clobered 3.0.they said not with ghana we humbled 1.0.they were predicting 4.0 with iv cost they called star studded.our boys were running like possest people.zambias luck numbers were 1 and 2.the best yaya got substuted the man city man fo poor show if u look at the zambian team we used the same underdog players the wo tournament the boys were fit .mamadu gaye have yo humble pie u were shown a clip by our supoters sending a warning to iv cost to watch out u thought it was ajoke .my simple question to u is wo are africa champions dont judge a book by the cover zambians want to here from u a hand shake to lota is not enough. chipolopolo iyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  69. mcdonald February 14, 2012 10:53 am

wel done chipolopolo for taking home the afcon trophy ,the whole of southern africa z proud of you

  70. The Seer February 14, 2012 12:02 pm

I bought my Samsung Plano TV in March 2006. Thank God I was still using the same to watch Afcon 2012. Had I taken a step to be abreast with fashion and replaced it with the latest Plasma or LCD as advertised by Drogba(samsung), maybe Drogba could have scored that penalty and even more goals.

There are many lessons learn at this Afcon. Teamwork not individualism will bring success. Humility, and not pride because of one’s past successes will always triumph. A positive can-do attitude will always triumph agains all odds. Adequate preparation will always bring success. The Zambian team has been in camp since November. The other longer preparation I can remember was 1994 and Zambia got silver. May the trophies continue coming through.

  71. shakemore fundira February 14, 2012 2:10 pm

well done zambia that was a handsome perfomance u explored

  72. patrick February 14, 2012 2:42 pm

  73. Chalgd February 14, 2012 4:09 pm

Congratulations Zambia!!!The victory is the Lord’s-Jesus Christ,I personally thank you and also on behalf of my compatriots.

When You told your prophets that You are doing a great thing in Zambia,we never doubted You.You lift others up as You bring others down.In the end,You deserve all the glory…Just look at how our brothers in some parts of Africa, they behave as if they are better than others.

Well, only God is good.As for the rest of us,we depend on Him.Today,He preserved it for Zambia even though His enemies tried to fight as was the case in 1993,but who has the last laugh…???

This is just the beginning…Heaven is also waiting and there it is our home ground. On earth(when we play away)we beat them-what more when we are in our home colours(at home ground)it’s MORE than conquerers in Christ Jesus…

To sign up,let me say we are full of joy and it’s running over because the promise has been fulfilled in style even if it takes the form of a soccer tournament. Our country is blessed and thank you to all our neighbours who celebrate with God’s children-you are also His children, you time of comfort is also coming.

    This is just the beginning…

  80. Peter Mwila February 16, 2012 1:07 pm

Zambia shed tires of sorrow in 1993 and I do remember how I got sick due to the funeral of our beloved soccer heroes who died. The current Chipolopolo “the copper bullets” have brought a smile on my face and indeed on so many soccer loving Zambians as well as East, Central and Southern Africa. We no longer believe in names as God blesses people equally. We knew from the beginning of the AFCON that it was our turn and indeed God heard our cry!!! We give glory to the Almighty God who made it possible. Insansa kuchinjanya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Viva Zambia Viva Chipolopolo…………………………..
