This is the same chap who refereed the Arsenal v Man. City game a week ago during which a certain Mr Balotelli committed such an horrendous tackle on Alex Song that everyone said it would have merited a straight red card, if only the referee had been able to see it.

The F.A. then said that they could not take any retrospective action as the referee, Martin Atkinson, had stated that he had seen the incident.

Atkinson, did not issue any card for the offence nor even a free kick. If he had truly seen it, as he claimed, he could not have failed to take action.

After today’s awful decision to award Chelsea a goal [I support neither Chelsea nor Spurs], when the ball had clearly not crossed the goal line, he is shown to be a poorly sighted man who should retire graciously.

    Appalling refereeing!

Very nice angle on those videos. What a mistake by Atkinson for awarding a ghost goal. He ruined the game with that call.
