Would be cruel if Newcastle were thrown out of the Champions League if Chelsea won the tournament and NUFC finished fourth

On form no one deserve a cl spot more than newcastle- chelsea and tottenham have both been inconsistent

I don’t think Newcastle wouldn’t be thrown out – they would compete and Chelsea would have to go through the qualifying stages, like Liverpool did in 2006

If Newcastle finish fourth and Chelsea finish lower than Newcastle but win the Champions League, Chelsea would be in and Newcastle would be out of the CL for next year. CL winners are guaranteed a place the following season and no league is allowed more than four participants for any reason.
