By Soccer Blog | Jan 8, 2015

Nike have unveiled their boot collection for Black History Month (February 2015), and have asked six athletes to don their new designs. Schalke and Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng is their representative for soccer and will be donning a special edition Nike Mercurial Superfly boot, with Theotis Beasley, Jerry Rice, Brianna Rollins, C. Vivian Stringer and John Thompson being the other sportspeople to wear special Nike footwear in their respective sports.

Boateng has taken an active stand against racism in the past, and led his teammates off the field against Pro Patria when he was playing for AC Milan. He has even mentioned that “he would prepared to walk off in a World Cup final”

Edit- January 17, 2015- As per this, the Superfly BHM cleats will be launched “exclusively” via the Nike app on 29 January (Thursday)

Edit- January 29, 2015- You can view the BHM Superfly at the official Nike UK Store.

They will cost $300 but they will also be sort of “mass produced” because black history month is obviously a month long they want to celebrate the boot for a solid month, meaning they are expecting larger units to be made. They are going to be available exclusively on the Nike Soccer App through any App store. Also, the 15th or 17th is a preorder only time period where as the 29th of January they will be for purchase.
