Legendary Bafana football star Mark Fish sparked controversy among South African social media circles after reportedly liking a tweet against the Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Siya Kolisi, the black captain who led the Springboks to the Rugby World Cup title in 2019.

South Africa is a country deeply divided by race and twitter users were wondering whether Mark Fish was coloured or white. Several users, who are of the opinion that Fish is coloured, were surprised by his comments on the issue. Others saw his previous likes, and said it reflected an anti-black stance.

    I’d say there is nothing directly showing Fish as racist, but those comments and the likes would traditionally reflect him being one.

    Surprising given that he is colored.
