The relation between sports and steroids is well known. Be it baseball, cycling, athletics or some other sport, reading news about players using performance enhancing drugs is not new for many of us. We will be bringing out a three part article on steroids, what they exactly are, their legal and not so legal uses.

Results from the Euro 2008 qualifying games held on August 22. There were six games in all, three in Group A, and one each from Groups D, E and F.

Wayne Rooney will miss England’s September Euro qualifiers because of a hairline fracture of his left foot. Mark Delaney has called it a day because of a recurring knee injury. If reports are to be believed, Bayer Leverkusen forward Andriy Voronin will be on his way to Anfield in the summer. Voronin, whose contract expires this summer, has reportedly penned a 4 year deal.

It was a battle between a team second from bottom and a team second from the top.One had scored 44 goals while the other had shipped in the same amount. The pre match statistics suggested that the match could go only one way- Chelsea’s. And that is eventually ended– 1-0 to Chelsea. Charlton showed plenty of fighting spirit- especially in the second half.

Tottenham midfielder Edgar Davids is on the verge of returning to the club where he began his career in 1991, Ajax Amsterdam. Davids’ representative has reportedly been quoted saying that Davids has signed a 18 month contract with the Dutch giants. The nitty gritties of the transfer are still being worked out.
