Similarities between 1995/96 and 2017-18 Premiership seasons after Round 23- Gap of 12 points & Liverpool winning 4-3

After Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Stoke at Old Trafford at the end of Week 23, here are some interesting similarities between the 1995/96 Premiership season and the 2017/18 one.

United were exactly twelve points behind Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle (the then leaders) at THIS stage (Round 23) in the 1995/96 season.

Liverpool beat Newcastle (the leaders) 4-3 at Anfield that season in an all time classic that many remember even today

United, as we all know, ended up WINNING the 1995/96 title, making up the 12 point deficit over the rest of the season, and eventually finishing four ahead of the Magpies. Liverpool have beaten the current leaders (Man City) 4-3 over the weekend.

Here are the tables from the 1995/1996 season and the 2017/2018 seasons after Round 23
