Here is a look at the player ratings from some of the big Spanish sports newspapers following the country’s 2-2 draw against the Netherlands in the first leg of their Nations League quarterfinal.

Spain managed to come away with a draw thanks to a stoppage time equaliser from Arsenal’s Mikel Merino.

AS thought Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella didn’t deserve a rating for his performance.

Mikel Merino, a late replacement off the bench (replacing Fabian Ruiz) got 2 stars for his impressive cameo that also produced La Furia Roja’s late equaliser.

Nobody in the Spain starting lineup got more than 2 stars, but on the Netherlands side, Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo was one of two players to get 3 stars. His Liverpool team mate, Virgil van Dijk, however got only a single star.

L’Equipe player ratings Croatia 2-0 France 2025- How did Saliba, Konate, Gvardiol fare?

Here is a look at how some of the big French newspapers rated Les Bleus’ players following their 2-0 defeat against Croatia in the first leg of their Nations League QF on Thursday night. France lost 2-0 to Croatia in Split, with Ante Budimir and Ivan Perisic scoring for the hosts.

French sports paper L’Equipe wasn’t pleased with Les Bleus’ performance in Split, giving them a team rating of just 4.1/10.

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate got the worst player rating in their books, with a 2/10 for the CB. His defensive partner, Arsenal’s William Saliba, only fared marginally better with a 3/10 rating. Konate was replaced at half time by Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano.

On the Croatian side, Man City defender Josko Gvardiol got a 7/10, which was the highest player rating on either side (shared with some other Croatian players). His MCFC team mate Mateo Kovacic however only got a 5/10 from L’Equipe.

Here is a look at the player ratings for Liverpool vs PSG (Round of 16 Second Leg) from big European sports newspapers L’Equipe, Marca & Gazzetta dello Sport following the Reds’ shock exit from the Champions League. Liverpool had won the first leg in Paris, but lost 1-0 in normal time here, and the game went to penalties, where PSG won 4-1.

Liverpool’s defeat leaves Arsenal and Aston Villa as the only English sides left in the Champions League.

The French newspaper loved the performance of Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma, giving him a 9/10 player rating (which is quite high praise given their standards). Nuno Mendes wasn’t too far behind in their eyes, with a 8/10.

Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez both made the Premier League TOTW for Round 28, but only got a 4/10 here from L’Equipe.
