The group stages for the Champions League 2014/15 season was done today (August 28th, 2014), and Liverpool’s return to Europe has seen them land a fairly decent draw with Real Madrid, Basel and Ludogorets. Ludogorets, of course, had a defender save two penalties in the shootout to qualify for the knockout stages.
Chelsea probably have the easiest draw among English teams, drawn with Schalke, Sporting and Maribor.
Man City face a tricky group, with Bayern and Roma also with them.
This cracking Giroud goal vs Man City (VIDEO BELOW) was the standout goal in the Gunners’ 3-0 Community Shield win over Manuel Pellegrini’s City side on 10th August, 2014. Giroud’s goal against Man City was the third of the game, and came on the hour mark. Amazing power from the French striker, slamming a left footed effort from 25 yards into the top corner of Caballero’s net.
