Here are the player ratings from various Spanish newspaper’s following Valencia’s upset 1-0 win over Chelsea in their Champions League opener. Ross Barkley missed a late penalty for the Blues, allowing VCF to emerge with all three points- they’re now second in the group behind Ajax, who beat Lille 3-0.

Here are the French newspaper player ratings for Ajax 3-0 Lille from noted publication L’Equipe. Last season’s semi-finalists prevailed 3-0 over LOSC in front of a 51,441 strong crowd.
L’Equipe weren’t very pleased with Renato Sanches, to put it mildly, giving him a player rating of just 2/10. For Ajax, Tagliafico, Onana and David Neres were given 8/10 for their performance.
While Michael Oliver was given a 8/10 for his performance as referee in Lyon vs Zenit, L’Equipe weren’t very impressed with Serbian referee Jovanovic, rating him a 4/10.
Here are the newspaper ratings for Lyon vs Zenit St.Petersburg from noted French paper L’Equipe. Zenit took the lead in front of the 47,201 strong crowd at the Groupama Arena through Sardar Azmoun (41), but OL equalised in the second half through a Memphis Depay penalty.
L’Equipe thought Azmoun and Reine-Adelaide were the best players from either side, giving both a 7/10. None of the other OL outfield players- Depay, Tousart and Dembele included, got more than 5. Interestingly though, referee Michael Oliver secured a higher rating than any of the players, getting a 8/10 for his performance!
