Former Manchester United and PSV star Memphis Depay, who currently plays his club football for Olympique Lyon has released a set of photos of him playing with his pet liger (lion + tiger cross). The liger is currently only a cub, and the pictures, as you might have expected, have attracted a fair bit of controversy.
One photo shows Memphis and his pet liger face the camera, another shows the Dutch star carry the liger and the last one sees the cub looking at Memphis’ lion tattoo.
This Julian Brandt goal vs Hamburger SV (VIDEO BELOW) saw the midfielder, then a teenager, become the youngest ever Bayer 04 player to score in the German top flight. The Brandt goal vs HSV came in the 58th minute of their 2-1 defeat on 4 April 2014, and was due to a mistake from Hamburg keeper Rene Adler. Brandt’s record has now been taken over by Kai Havertz, who broke it in 2017.
It appears that Marcos Llorente has named his pet pug Anfield.
