This Sinan Bolat goal vs AZ Alkmaar was a historic goal from the Standard Liege goalkeeper back in the 2009/10 season- he became the first goalkeeper to score a goal from open play in the CL proper (Hans Jorg Butt had scored before him, but all his goals were penalties; Vincent Enyeama also did a penalty goal in 2010 for Hapoel against Lyon). The Bolat goal vs Alkmaar came in stoppage time and gave Standard a 1-1 draw. For more than a decade, it remained the only CL goal by a goalkeeper from open play before Lazio’s Provodel repeated the feat against Atleti in September 2023.
