After a midweek defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League, Real Madrid tasted defeat in La Liga as they went down 3-2 to Real Zaragoza at home. Lafita’s first goal was aided by a horrendous error from Real keeper and skipper Iker Casillas. Real had Ricardo Carvalho, who also conceded a penalty, sent off late in the fixture.

Four goals in the first half and five goals in the second half, with Gonzalo Higuain scoring a hat trick for Real Madrid.
